Kevin Bozada – Instructor
Kevin Bozada started boxing in 1982 at the age of 16 at the Dogtown Athletic Club. In 1982, boxing at 156 pounds in the Novice division, Bozada won his first Golden Gloves title while representing the Southside Warriors under the direction of Ray Kube. Bozada won three more Golden Gloves titles in 1984 before moving up in weight. At 165 pounds, he won two ABF regional titles in open divisions (1985 – 1986). In 1987, Bozada again moved up in weight to 178 pounds and won the Light Heavyweight division. A year later, he moved up in weight to 201 pounds and won the Heavyweight Open division.
Curiosity began to draw Bozada to a different sport, and he joined Finney’s Championship Kickboxing gym in 1999. Combining his knowledge of boxing and his new foot skills. Bozada won three kickboxing titles. In 2003 – 2004, Bozada won the National Kickboxing Heavyweight division and the Midwest Cruiserweight Championship.
Bozada is still active in boxing. He has previously taught classes at Gateway Krav Maga, Sweat gyms, Pound 4 Pound and Finney’s MMA. He’s proud of his contributions to amateur boxing, kickboxing and the annual Guns ’N Hoses event that supports families of police officers and firefighters los in the line of duty.
