Kent Butzin – Instructor
Xtreme Krav Maga St. Louis
Kent graduated from Mizzou in 1988 and pursued a career in Rehabilitation Medicine in the field of Prosthetics. Upon completion of his residency at North Kansas City Hospital he moved to St. Louis to practice.
Kent was always deeply interested in self defense having spent 4 years in Army ROTC and 2 years in the Army National Guard. He earned his 1st Dan Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do in 2009. After reaching level of Black Belt ,he felt that his training lacked the realistic applications he felt were important to achieve the level of confidence to be able to defend himself and his family.
Kent saw a segment on Krav Maga on the Discovery Channel and contacted Steve at Xtreme Krav Maga for a free class. It was love at first site! Kent was hooked and trains every free moment he can find at Xtreme Krav Maga.
Kent has currently tested to Level 3 and has completed his Phase A Instructor Certification. . Kent deeply believes in the never quit attitude and principles of Krav Maga as well as loves to pass on knowledge to his students.

Krav Maga Worldwide Phase A Certified
I have been a member of Xtreme Krav Maga for four years now. During that time I have benefitted from the knowledge and expertise of several instructors.
After my wife and I began a family, it was too difficult to come to train after work, so I began the morning classes with Kent Butzin.
I have been attending Kent’s 5:30am morning classes for two years now. Kent has given me the physical and mental tools necessary for defending myself in a violent situation.Jeff Roth
After two and a half years training in Kent’s daily 5:30am Krav Maga class, I can look back and say, “Kent’s ability to repeatedly motivate his students and his expertise in teaching is the reason I am healthier and more fit than I was in my 20’s and 30’s.”
Anyone can train to improve themselves.
Kent meets you wherever you are at the start, and every day along the way, with a positive and energetic motivation that will both push you further than you would have taken yourself, and keep you coming back.Mike Fuller
